Akdamar Island

Akdamar Island is located in eastern Turkey, and is the second largest island in Lake Van. Located on the island is Akdamar Kilesi, or Church of the Holy Cross. The ruins left of this Armenian cathedral are situated with a beautiful mountainous backdrop.
